How you can support the Fishtail Fund
We have around 25 students and we are currently not inviting sponsorship for others. Instead we are concentrating on building up resources to support our current Fishtail Fund students if they are good enough to match our criteria for College and University: we call this Fishtail Plus.
Our trustees in Nepal calculate the cost of these higher levels of education at
- College: £100 for 3 months short courses to £1000 or more a year
- University: up to £30,000 for a medical course.
These existing students are expensive and many need joint sponsors. Would you like to become a joint sponsor, to spread the financial load?
If you are able to help we can offer you
- regular reports on progress
- letters from ‘your’ student (perhaps emails in years to come)
- photographs and marksheets from time to time.
As in Europe, our Fishtail Plus students will be expected to contribute by undertaking part-time work: below we show Kabita Sai, supporting herself through school by setting up a vegetable stall.
